HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
WHO WE ARE
Great American Tour Company is a Yellowstone-focused tour operator based in the Mountain West, built for travelers who want more than “drive-by sightseeing.” Our tours are designed around the real Yellowstone experience: wildlife moments that can’t be scheduled, traffic that comes and goes, and the kind of wonder that happens when you’re in the right place at the right time.
Yellowstone spans Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, and we primarily depart from West Yellowstone, Montana—one of the most convenient gateways for full-day access to the park’s iconic highlights.
Our Vehicles (Comfort + Flexibility)
We match the right vehicle to the right tour style:
- 15-seat shuttle bus (up to 14 guests) for small-group tours and families traveling together
- 6-seat minivan (up to 5 guests) for private tours and tighter access/flexibility
- 4-seat Compact SUV (up to 3 guests) for private tours, couples, or wildlife-focused days that benefit from smaller vehicles
Lunch Is Included
Every tour includes lunch — typically a box lunch for maximum time in the park. Depending on timing, crowds, and guest preference, we may choose to eat inside the park at a restaurant instead. Either way, you’re covered.
(We can accommodate most dietary needs with advance notice.)
The Great American Difference
- Realistic routing built around crowds, road flow, and timing
- Planned flexibility for wildlife sightings, weather shifts, and park conditions
- Story-driven guiding: geology, wildlife behavior, history, and the “why” behind what you’re seeing
- A calm, safe pace so your trip feels like vacation — not a race
What We Believe
Yellowstone is a living place. Our tours are designed to help you experience it with respect — for wildlife, for other visitors, and for the park itself.
OUR TOUR STYLE
We keep things simple, comfortable, and well-paced:
- Curated routes that balance highlights with realistic driving times
- Pro guide energy: history, geothermal science, wildlife behavior, and the best photo angles
- Stops that matter: boardwalks, overlooks, waterfalls, and can’t-miss geyser basins
AUTHORIZED, RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL
The National Park Service works hard to ensure we can all enjoy this beautiful and unique place. We run our tours with that responsibility front and center—protecting wildlife, following park rules, and helping guests enjoy Yellowstone safely and respectfully.
WHY GUESTS LOVE TOURING WITH US
Because Yellowstone can be overwhelming on your own. Parking, timing geyser eruptions, knowing what’s worth it, and avoiding “missed moments” takes experience. We help you skip the stress and focus on the experience.
